EUSEBIUS
c.263 - c.339
Bishop of Palestine

Eusebius of Caesarea was the principal of a school of theology in Palestine.

He wrote a history of the first four centuries of the Catholic Church and also a history of the world.

He played a leading role in the controversy over Arianism, for he gave refuge to Arius , who had been accused of heresy. Eusebius was temporarily excommunicated but finally accepted the doctrinal position of the Council of Nicaea.
