TORAMANA
c.448 - 510
King of the Huns

The Hunnish dominion during the fifth century stretched from Persia to central Asia, the main capital being Bamiyan in Afghanistan.

The Hunnish ruler Toramana conquered northern India from his base in Afghanistan. His horsemen were raiding as far south as Malwa and they destroyed in the process the Gupta empire which brought the golden Age of Hindu civilization to an end.
