Antiochus III the Great was king of the Hellenistic Syrian Seleucid, empire from 223 to 187.
Antiochus attempted to recreate the Seleucid empire from Egypt to India, where he established a system of vassal states.
In 192 BC he invaded
Greece but he was forced to retreat from the western Mediterranean
after a defeat by the Romans.
