Arab Historian

Ibn Issak, or Ibn Ishaq, was a freed slave from Medina who became the "father of Arab history". Ibn Issak's father collected information about the Prophet Mohammed's life in Medina.

Ibn Issak studied in Alexandria and then moved to Baghdad where he wrote an unbiased history of Mohammed's life. This 'Sirat Rasul Allah' or 'The Life of Mohammed' is one of the most important sources on the Prophet's life.
