Roman Emperor
Trajan was the second of the so-called 'good emperors' of Rome and an important military leader.

As a Spaniard Trajan was the first non-Italian emperor. He traveled a great deal, and he built an extensive road system. Trajan subjected the Dacians in several campaigns and settled the new province Dacia with Roman soldiers (Romania).

In the East he fought the Parthians successfully resulting in the establishmenmt of the provinces Armenia, Mesopotamia, Assyria, and Arabia. Under Trajan the Roman empire reached its greatest territorial extension.
