Ermaneric established a vast Ostrogothic kingdom from the Baltic to the Black Sea . He struggled successfully with the Romans.
Ermaneric committed suicide because he despaired of successfully resisting the Huns, who invaded his territories in the 370s.
His kingdom was destroyed and his people became subject to
the Huns for 75 years.
