Pharaoh of Egypt
Sabaka, or Shabaka, a king from Nubia, subjugated lower Egypt and became the first of the Ethiopian pharaohs.
He captured and burned alive the second king of the 24th dynasty and became the founder of the 25th dynasty.
Sabaka promoted religious orthodoxy and a return to ancient customs. He revived the practice of pyramid burials and was himself laid to rest in a pyramid between the Third and Fourth Nile cataracts.
