TSHU HI
1130 - 1200
Chinese Philosopher

Tshu-Hi (or Chu Hsi) was a scholar and poet.

He developed a popular philosophy from Buddhist and Taoist elements, and he simplified the Chinese characters.
He enriched Confucianism by giving it a metaphysic in addition to its ethical values.

He maintained that because every-thing is part of the Supreme Being, there is no opposition between human moral laws and the law of the Universe.
