TSHU HI
1130 - 1200
Chinese Philosopher

Tshu-Hi (or Chu Hsi) was a scholar and poet.

He developed a popular philosophy from Buddhist and Taoist elements, and he simplified the Chinese characters. He enriched Confucianism by giving it a metaphysic in addition to its ethical values.

He maintained that because everything is part of the Supreme Being, there is no opposition between human moral laws and the law of the Universe.
