Yahoo was created in April 1994 by two Ph.D. candidates in Electrical engineering named David Filo and Jerry Yang at Stanford University in California.

For many people Yahoo became the Internet. The name Yahoo is actually an acronym for 'Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle'.
