Historically the only knowledge we have of Jesus are the Gospels
except from a passing remark by Josephus. Outside Palestine
nobody in the Roman world noticed this new sect which was confined
to the Jewish community around Jerusalem.
Profound as Jesus message was it would not have become a world religion without the missionary activity of St.Paul who was the Christian Church's apostle to the Gentiles and became the most influential teacher in the history of Christianity. |
