Little known during his lifetime Jesus' teaching brought people into a great religious movement that is now the most widespread in the world.

Jesus taught a new and profound doctrine - namely the universal loving Fatherhood of God and the coming of the Kingdom of Heaven. There were no chosen people in this Kingdom - all men were brothers, beloved sons and daughters of the divine Father.

He fought sin and hypocricy but never despised sinful persons and was ready to forgive his enemies. Democratic beliefs in equality, responsibilty, and care for the weak owe much to Jesus' lessons in brotherhood and love.
